Every Company is a unique reflection of the people who own and run it. James Thomas Heating and Cooling is a family owned business run by husband and wife team James and Noreen Thomas.

At our core, we really like helping people. Each day, James and I are in our shop, working alongside our team to ensure we solve our customer’s heating and air conditioning problems accurately, timely and at a fair price.

Meet the James Thomas Heating and Cooling Team

James, President

James is a native of Gilmer County Georgia, born and raised in Cherry Log. Growing up in his father's HVAC and oil business in Ellijay, James acquired a unique blend of experience that he passes on to his customers. A mechanic at heart, at a young age, he was often spotted taking apart the family radio or his bike just to see how they worked. As a teen, he learned about air conditioners and furnaces by grilling his dad’s service technicians about different pieces of equipment they repaired that day, begging them to show him parts they removed and explain what was wrong. He installed his first system in 1980 and went on to personally install thousands more.

James holds a GA Unrestricted Conditioned Air License, the highest offered in the State of Georgia, and is NATE certified. He advances his knowledge with over 120 hours per year of technical training.

Noreen, Financial Manager

Born in Dearborn, Michigan, Noreen has lived in the South for 25 years. She earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from Temple University in Philadelphia and went on to work for 30 years in corporate financial accounting, automated systems and management. A very detailed person, Noreen oversees the office operations and all business systems. She enjoys researching the latest business technology and implementing it at James Thomas Heating and Cooling.

Les, Installation Manager

Les, a Gilmer County Georgia native, graduated from Gilmer County High School. Upon graduation, he took his first job in heating and air conditioning and has loved it ever since. He is extremely talented and knowledgeable with over 20 years hands-on field experience. Over those 20 years, he has pretty much seen it all and solved it once before. He oversees all new installations, ensuring the quality of our work. Les holds a GA Restricted Conditioned Air License.

Jimmy, Sales Manager

Jimmy has been a resident of Fannin County for 35 years, attending Fannin County High School in the 80’s. A twelve-year employee, Jimmy visits with customers in their homes to talk with them about changing out their existing equipment or building their new home or office. He measures all jobs, completes load calculations, and provides quotes to our customers. He is a Baptist preacher and enjoys spending time with his sweet granddaughter, Lily.

Tina, Customer Service Coordinator

Tina is a native of Gilmer County Georgia, also born and raised in Cherry Log, where she still lives today. She has an amazing ability – some say magical ability – to work our dispatch board and fit all the calls in where and when they are needed. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her grand nieces and nephews, camping and gardening.
